Like WLS 2017, we will manage a PhD student colloquium in 2019. Our annual summits represent a unique chance to network with high-level international researchers as well as entrepreneurs and – at times – policy-makers, business leaders and education manageres. We pride ourselves in being able to open doors for PhD students at high levels, while at the same time offering a friendly and low-key atmosphere for the presentation of PhD papers at varying stages of completion.
Our PhD colloquium model is simple: We offer signed-on PhD students a chance to meet before the start of the summit to set up a four-day long interaction, and then join for the general summit program, before getting together to complete discussions in a forum after the summit that is only open to PhD students. In the process, students present papers much like at any other conference. They receive feed-back from high-level scholars. They are invited to publish their papers through the WLS official proceedings, where all completed PhD papers will be subject to double blind peer review by our highly capable corps of reviewers.
Upon completion, PhD students receive a World Learning Summit badge, as well as recommendation from the Future Learning Lab hosting research center that five (5) ECTS points be granted by their home hosting PhD program. World Learning Summit does not offer such points and neither does the hosting center Future Learning Lab. However, our program is high quality and our publications are indexed, providing students with all necessary documentation to seek ECTS accreditation for their completed papers.
